2023 kitchen design trends
2023 is already shaping up to be an exciting year in kitchen design trends, with plenty of features and finishes to get you feeling inspired to create the kitchen of your dreams. Ready to get a glimpse into some of the possibilities that are open for you? We’ve listed a few of our favourite 2023 kitchen design trends for you to take a look at. Let’s get started!
1. Mixed Materials
Mixing and matching is looking to be a really big thing in 2023. This includes a mixture of natural materials (such as wood and stone), as well as mixing metals like copper, bronze and brass. From cabinetry and splashbacks, through to door and cupboard handles, mixed materials are making themselves seen – and we’re loving the results.
2. Sculleries
Sculleries continue to play a main role in kitchen renovations, helping to add serious style and functionality to homes. Sculleries work by keeping all the kitchen prep work together (such as a sink, dishwasher, countertops and storage) to help keep the main kitchen space clear and inviting at all times. They offer so many fantastic benefits, and it’s great to see their popularity continue.

3. Warmer Colours
While all-white kitchens will always be a popular choice, bold colours are starting to make their way back into homes. Think olive greens, navy blues, rich browns … the list goes on. Of course, if you don’t want to make any big colour changes right away, you can start off small. Add things like artworks, throw rugs and accessories to incorporate pops of colour into your space.
4. Statement Pieces
It’s not just colours that are getting bolder in 2023. Other statement pieces are getting ready to make themselves seen, including striking lighting choices, large rangehoods and bold splashbacks. By focusing on statement pieces and giving them the space to shine, you can easily add instant character and charm to your kitchen.
5. Large Island Benchtops
Flexible spaces became the norm during the COVID-19 pandemic, when homes suddenly became schoolrooms, workspaces and everything in between. Large island benchtops help to continue this shift towards greater flexibility, helping to create spaces big enough for family meals, homework, at-home meetings or weekend entertaining with friends.
